Barbecue School at Breck’s Vineyard – Outdoor Fire Cooking Experience
Join us at the beautiful Breck’s Vineyard for an immersive barbecue experience running from 10:00am to 2:00pm, set in a relaxed vineyard environment focused on great food, fire cooking, and good company.
On arrival, guests will be welcomed with tea, coffee, and breakfast cooked over fire.
This is a relaxed, informal learning experience rather than a structured classroom setup. There are no individual cooking stations; instead, you’re invited to take part as much or as little as you like. You’re welcome to get hands-on throughout the session, or simply stand back, enjoy a drink, and watch the cooking unfold while picking up tips and techniques along the way. The aim is a chilled, social atmosphere where learning happens naturally through demonstration, conversation, and shared food.
Throughout the day, you’ll explore key barbecue skills including:
– Fire management and heat control
– Direct vs indirect cooking methods
– Lumpwood vs Briquettes
– Cooking with Weber Master-Touch kettles and ProQ smokers
You’ll then enjoy a full flavour-led menu (subject to seasonal adjustments or equivalent substitutions where required):
Menu highlights:
– Fire-warmed smoked ham and cheese croissants, with welcome tea and coffee.
– Surf & turf brunch featuring cedar plank smoked salmon, alongside tomahawk steaks.
– Pork and pineapple al pastor rotisserie tacos
– Homemade sides including pico de gallo and guacamole
– Slow-cooked beef birria-style chilli nachos
– Dessert of slow ember-roasted fruit crumble served with ice cream
A social, fire-filled day of bold flavours, relaxed learning, and outdoor cooking inspiration you can take home and recreate.
A selection of drinks will be available throughout the day from a self-serve cool box, including beers and soft drinks.
Each guest will have two beers included as part of the experience, alongside unlimited soft drinks and water.
Additional beers will be available to purchase on the day if you’d like to enjoy more.
Vineyard Tour
Depending on how the day flows, at some point there will be the option for a guided vineyard tour of approximately 30 minutes, giving you a chance to explore Breck’s Vineyard and learn a little more about the site and its wines.
Following the tour, we’ll aim to finish the day with a light wine tasting session, enjoyed alongside the final stages of cooking.
As with all live fire cooking experiences, timings may naturally run slightly flexible, but this is very much part of the relaxed, unhurried nature of the day
If booking for Fathers Day presents please leave a note in the comments section and we can email you a voucher to pop in the card.
